"Sarasota Blues Fest" Competition
Got the blues? In a funk? Need to do some soul searching?
OK, we'll stop. You get the picture. The Sarasota Blues Fest is back this year with the best Southern rock, jazz, gospel, blues, soul, R&B, funk and world music acts in all the land!
And we both know that nothing goes better with those genres of music than Florida sunshine, and, well, you.
That's why we want you to enter the "Sarasota Blues Fest" Competition on OurStage. Submit your best song by July 25, 2011. We'll choose five finalists from the Top 20 ranked artists to perform at the Gator Club in Sarasota on August 13. Whoever blows the judges' minds will win a grand prize of $750 cash and a slot onstage at the Sarasota Blues Fest 2011!
Participants must be eighteen (18) years of age or older at time of entry and must be a legal resident of Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina or Alabama.
It is the winner's sole responsibility to arrange transportation to and from Sarasota, FL. Winner also accepts sole responsibility for any miscellaneous costs relating to acceptance of prize.
Regarding acceptable genres of music, only Submission Materials that are determined, at the sole discretion of the Sponsors, to be classified as Southern rock, jazz, gospel, blue, R&B, funk and world as defined on the OurStage FAQ's will be deemed valid entries. Instrumental songs will be allowed in the competition.

Female Band Invasion is a Sarasota based high energy eclectic rock band of both cover and original songs. They play everything from classic rock, to dance/pop, to punk and alternative, giving new meaning to the acronym FBI.

FBI started as three rockin' moms and transgender guitarist Jami, but after losing bass player Jenn, FBI took a different direction when top notch bass player and singer Barry Nicholson filled in. In the short time Barry played with the band, he brought them to new levels. After auditioning transgender Bri at an open jam, FBI is happy to get back to their all "female" theme, however Barry will sorely be missed. FBI looks forward to welcoming Bri into the band full-time at her debut on June 11th at Honoluana.

Those Guys (the artists formerly known as Cornbad) was formed between the legendary Bobby Ricci and 3 time Grammy Award winner Walter Behrman. One fine day, Bobby was on the phone with Walter and had mentioned in passing that he had a spectacular drummer named Bobby Richmond (AKA Bobby #2), and so Walter felt he should mention that he had an amazing bassist named Craig Holder. They thought about this for a few minutes and after a little head scratching realized that made up a whole band! Cheri Carr, formerly in a No Doubt Tribute band as Gwen Stefani joined the mix after her No Doubt band members were all killed suddenly in a tragic folding chair accident. Cheri then decided to join forces with Those Guys and vowed never to use a folding chair ever again. Thus with the addition of a girl into the band, we then decided to name the band Those Guys. I know, right? It doesn't make any sense. Well it doesn't have to. So there. We're an awesome band so stop reading this and get out the door already so you can make it to the show on time! Walter ultimately decided to go his own way, so as it stands now, Those Guys consists of Bobby Ricci, Bobby Richmond, Craig Holder, Cheri Carr, and on occasion Troy Nichols (of the Crashers) as a guest vocalist. The Flats is a high energy band formed in Tampa, Florida in January of 2008. The band consists of singer-songwriter and guitarist Roberto DeBourg, drummer, percussionist and singer, Hiram Garzaro, keyboardist, programmer and singer, Derek Scheib and Bassist and backing vocalist, Johhny Deliz. All four members have been involved in music for many years and bring an incredible variety of music genres to the stage.
Roberto DeBourg & The Flats have shared billing with great national acts like Dennis DeYoung from Styxx, The Gin Blossoms and others. They also have been one of the Tampa Bay Buccaneer's official bands for multiple years now, performing at every home game (Raymond James Stadium). They are part of the Tampa Bay Rays' entertainment line up as well, and work with some of the finest talent agencies in Tampa Bay, such as Dennis Baily Management, Skipper's Smoke House Talent Agency, etc.
The Flats have been featured in several publications like Tampa Bay Weddings Magazine, TBT and various other publications around South Florida.
The Flats have teamed up with Mauricio Linero from Seven Sounds Music to offer more depth in the engineering and production departments. Visit "Photos" to see samples of room lighting, staging and trussing options we have done recently.

Once a year we are lucky to be apart of the jazz festival and one of the trolley stops with Kat Heffner playing at the club.
This uplifting Reggae,Soca,Hip-hop,R&B,Top 40 band has been sending their musical vibes out to the people for over 15 years! Led by Oswald "Ham" Caines, bandleader, bass player and vocalist this group of four (4) men make you feel the music, getting everyone dancing and jumping till they sweat. They always leave the audience wanting for more. Besides playing at about every local club there is in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Bradenton, Sarasota and Venice, they have opened for many big name performers. Such as, the "Bad Boys" of reggae Inner Circle, Third World, Steel Pulse, Shabba Ranks and Yellowman, just to name a few. And in the world of soca music, they have backed up such greats as the Mighty Sparrow, Crazy, Leon Caldero, Designer and most recently, Baron. Each year that the Superbowl has been held in Tampa, Democracy has been right there giving the people an incredible performance at the Raymond James Stadium and in Ybor City on the Florida Lottery Stage.

Let Me Tell You About Myself....
I was born into Musical Theatre at the very young age of five. I knew then that the stage was the only place I wanted to be. Through my years in the Theatre, I had the wonderful opportunity of creating and perfecting so many different musical personalities.The wide diversity in my performances come from my true love of relating to my audiences, I have always loved the intimate moments. But Musical Theatre has only been one of the shaping tools in my life.
The Rock Personality...it's a workout.
For those who know me and who have seen me perform, they know that I am not happy unless I am out of breath after a song. Spending seven years in a rock band can really help to build the range and endurance in a voice. And though I love to rock out like the best of them... it's only one of my personalitites.
The Cabaret Personality....Ah...it just makes me smile.
From singing a sweet jazz song to a broadway ballad or even an unexpected opera piece, my heart is in it all.Give me a piano and let me lay on it and do my magic!!! The satin gowns, the gloves, the diamonds, the feathers!!! mmmm. Just let me seduce my way into a standing ovation.
I've performed in front of so many audiences, I have had love affairs with stages and pianos all over the world, and I can only tell you that it never gets tiring.
There really is so much more about me, but you would have to see me on stage to get the whole picture.....you can see who I really am, where I come from, all my most intimate feelings and secrets... I never hold back.

What are the Winter Bar Games?
An annual event geared for those who love to play
Bar Games! The games include Beer Pong,
Billiards, Wii/Virtual Golf, and Flip Cup. Teams
consist of 5 people (no gender requirements) and
every team member MUST participate in at
LEAST one event.
Who can participate?
Anyone over the age of 21 is welcome to
participate in the Winter Bar Games.

The Washed Up Hacks is not just a band but a " Super Group" of bad-ass musicians that have formed for one reason only. To rock your face off and make your head explode from sheer amazement. This "Super Group" started in 2009 with a phone call to the world famous "Crazy Dave" Talkovic from Mark Nodeen. Mark said that he was going to form the greatest cover band ever, but he couldn't do it without a hard-core rhythm section. So Crazy Dave agreed to come along for the ride and called upon the help from his drum playing friend Roy 3000. Roy 3000 is the original Earth Wind and Fire drummer. Look if you believe that I will give you a nickel, but if anyone asks........he is.
Then Crazy Dave made a call to Rusty Cage the guitar playing outlaw from the west. It is rumored that you can't kill Rusty Cage because he is made out of dead musicians and old Fender Guitars necks. Rusty Cage was told of the phenomenon about to happen and quickly signed on for greatness. And so the Washed Up Hacks was born. Combined they have a knowledge of 100's of covers. The Washed Up Hacks are a cover band machine ready to rock at any time
